NEOM is continuing construction across its Oxagon industrial zone, with major work under way on green hydrogen, data-centre infrastructure, and industrial logistics, as the project sharpens its investment priorities toward clean energy and advanced manufacturing.
The flagship NEOM Green Hydrogen Company project is reported to be about 80% complete and is targeting commercial production in 2027. The facility is built on a 4 GW base of dedicated solar and wind power, with a planned output of 600 tonnes of hydrogen which will be converted into green ammonia for export markets.
Data centres and industrial base
Oxagon is also becoming a hub for computing infrastructure. A partnership plans a $5 billion, 1.5 GW AI data-centre campus, with a first phase of 300 MW targeted for readiness in 2028. A separate announcement in 2026 expanded a NEOM data-centre plan to 100 MW of a 360 MW AI-ready facility at Oxagon.
The industrial base is expanding further with an industrial gases facility in the Industrial Quarter, backed by a planned investment of SAR 600 million. Groundbreaking is scheduled for February 2026, with operations expected in late 2026.
These developments matter to residents and businesses because they signal steady demand for skilled jobs, industrial services, and technology infrastructure in the Kingdom. Within Saudi Arabia's sovereign-fund planning, NEOM remains in the priority set, while broader capital allocation has shifted toward advanced manufacturing, industrial and logistics activity, clean energy, and renewable infrastructure — sectors expected to shape employment and investment opportunities in the years ahead.
