Neom Beat Al-Fateh 4-2 to Enter Pro League Top Five

Neom SC have climbed into the top five of the Saudi Pro League after a 4-2 win over Al-Fateh on the final matchday before the Gulf Cup break in September 2026, edging Al-Ahli out of the elite group.

Alexandre Lacazette led the way with two goals in the victory, which came just a week after Neom's win over Al-Hilal. The back-to-back results have lifted the club, now in its second season in the top flight, above Al-Ahli in the standings.

Heading into the international break, the top five reads Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Qadsiah and Neom. Neom sit fifth with 15 points from seven matches, boasting five wins, no draws and two defeats, with 13 goals scored and six conceded for a goal difference of +7.

Al-Ahli, meanwhile, drop to sixth on 12 points from seven games, with four wins and three losses, 16 goals scored and 10 conceded.

The league now pauses for an international break linked to the Gulf Cup, with matches set to resume after early October 2026. For fans across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, Neom's rapid rise adds a fresh storyline to a competitive campaign, as the newcomers prove they can trade blows with the country's biggest clubs.
