NEOM Beat Al Hilal 2-0, End 47-Match Unbeaten Run

NEOM produced a landmark result on 7 September 2026, defeating Al Hilal 2–0 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh to bring the champions' long unbeaten league run to an end.

The victory stopped Al Hilal's 47-match unbeaten streak in the Roshn Saudi League, one of the most impressive sequences in the competition's recent history. Despite the loss, Al Hilal stayed at the top of the table with 15 points.

The result was a major boost for NEOM, who climbed to fourth place with 12 points. The two clean-sheet goals underlined a disciplined and organised performance against one of the league's strongest sides.

For football fans across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the match is a reminder of how competitive the Roshn Saudi League has become, with newer sides now capable of upsetting the established front-runners. Al Hilal's grip on the top spot remains intact for now, but the defeat signals a tighter title race ahead as the season unfolds.
