Wael Al-Fayez Named Kings League MENA Director

Saudi sports and media executive Wael Al-Fayez has been appointed Managing Director of Kings League MENA, becoming the first person to lead the regional venture. The appointment was confirmed in September 2026.

In his new role, Al-Fayez will oversee commercial strategy, major partnerships, and operational growth across the Middle East and North Africa. He brings more than 20 years of experience across sports, media, entertainment, and technology, and previously served as chief commercial officer of the Saudi Pro League.

A regional competition based in Riyadh

The appointment comes as Kings League MENA stages its 2026 Split 1 at Cool Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City, Riyadh. The expanded competition features 10 teams, including three Saudi teams, reflecting the growing footprint of the format in the region.

The 2026 season runs from 18 September to 30 October 2026. The final four — comprising both semifinals and the final — is scheduled for 30 October 2026.

For sports fans in Riyadh and across the Kingdom, the tournament adds another high-profile football entertainment event to the capital's calendar, while the leadership appointment signals continued investment in building the competition's presence throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
