October Rainfall to Peak Across Saudi Arabia

Weather forecasts point to a notably wet October across most of Saudi Arabia, with rainfall expected to exceed the seasonal average in large parts of the Kingdom. The probability of above-average rain reaches up to 80%, making this month the anticipated peak of the autumn rainy season.

Very heavy rainfall may affect a wide stretch of regions, including Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir, Al-Jouf, Hail, Qassim, the Northern Borders, western Najran, and Riyadh with the exception of its southern parts.

In addition, extremely heavy rainfall is possible in Makkah, Jazan, and the Eastern Province, except for its southern areas. These conditions reflect the broader autumn pattern, in which October typically brings the strongest and most widespread rain of the season.

Why it matters

Heavier-than-usual rain can affect daily routines for residents and expats alike, from commutes and school runs to outdoor plans. Low-lying roads and valleys may see water accumulation during intense downpours, so motorists are encouraged to stay cautious and allow extra travel time.

Residents across affected regions are advised to follow official updates, avoid flood-prone areas during heavy rain, and plan errands and travel around the forecast peaks this month.
