Riyadh Air and الخطوط السعودية have begun implementing a domestic codeshare partnership in 2026, allowing travelers to combine international and Saudi domestic flights on a single ticket. The first phase launched in late August 2026, placing Riyadh Air's RX code on selected Saudia-operated domestic flights to and from مطار الملك خالد الدولي in الرياض.
The initial routes covered by the codeshare connect الرياض with Abha, Al Qassim, الدمام, جدة, Medina, and Tabuk. Under the arrangement, passengers can book a single itinerary that combines a domestic segment operated by Saudia to or from Riyadh with an international segment operated by Riyadh Air via the capital.
The partnership is designed to make connections at مطار الملك خالد الدولي seamless. Travelers benefit from a single ticket and unified booking reference, coordinated baggage handling through to their final destination, and timetables aligned to Riyadh Air's arrival and departure times at the airport.
Why it matters
The move expands connectivity within Saudi Arabia and links Riyadh Air's growing international network to more Saudi cities, with the capital serving as its main hub. The framework covers connectivity to more than 10 cities across Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, starting from الرياض and expanding over time.
Codeshare flights can be booked through Riyadh Air's official website and mobile app, which display the RX code on Saudia-operated sectors, as well as through authorized travel agents and global distribution systems. Booking via الخطوط السعودية's own website and app will follow once reciprocal codeshare phases are activated. The partnership also paves the way for future loyalty program integration, letting members earn and redeem points and enjoy elite benefits across both networks once fully rolled out.
For passengers arriving in Saudi Arabia on Riyadh Air, the codeshare offers straightforward onward connections to major Saudi cities through a single, coordinated journey.
