Riyadh Falcon Auction Sees Strong Bidding in Malham

Bidding was strong at the International Falcon Breeders Auction in Malham, north of Riyadh, where two prized birds sold for a combined SAR 201,000 on the second night of the 2026 event. The auction is held at the headquarters of the National Center for Falcons.

The first falcon, from a German farm, opened at SAR 20,000 and closed at SAR 100,000. The second, from a British farm, opened at SAR 40,000 and sold for SAR 101,000, reflecting the growing appetite for premium breeding falcons among collectors and enthusiasts.

The auction runs from 5 August to 25 August 2026, and charges no buying or selling fees. Sessions are broadcast on television and streamed live on social media, giving viewers across the Kingdom and beyond a chance to follow the bidding in real time.

What it means for the community

Falconry remains a cherished part of Saudi heritage, and events like this one connect long-standing traditions with a modern marketplace. The absence of transaction fees and the wide broadcast reach make the auction more accessible to newcomers and seasoned breeders alike.

Falcon fans have another date to watch: the Saudi Falcons Club Auction is scheduled from 1 October to 30 November 2026 in Riyadh, with daily sessions running from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
