The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has confirmed two new leadership appointments, naming Mr. Talal F. Al-Humoud as Vice Governor for Technical Affairs and Mr. Abdulelah A. Aldeheem as Vice Governor for Executive Affairs, effective August 2026.
Both appointments were made by royal orders issued in July 2026 with the Excellent Rank, and were publicly confirmed through the central bank's official media center during July and August 2026.
The two vice governors join the bank's leadership under Governor Mr. Ayman M. Al-Sayari, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The board structure includes the governor as chairman, two memberships for the vice governors, and five non-government members chosen for their relevant experience and expertise.
Mr. Aldeheem brings extensive institutional experience to his role, having previously served at SAMA as Assistant Governor for Executive Affairs, Deputy Governor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Manager of Investment Risk and Performance.
Why it matters
The Saudi Central Bank acts as the Kingdom's monetary authority and financial regulator, overseeing banking, licensing, and consumer protection across the financial sector. These decisions are personnel and governance matters, with no fees, prices, or validity periods attached.
Residents and businesses interact with SAMA mainly through its official online portal and specialized regulatory platforms for complaints, licensing, and regulatory services — not through Absher, Muqeem, Qiwa, Najiz, Nafath, or Tawakkalna. For current information on leadership and any future changes, the authoritative channel remains the Saudi Central Bank's official website.
