The Saudi Sports for All Federation has reported a notable rise in physical-activity participation across the Kingdom, with 59.1% of Saudi adults achieving at least 150 minutes of exercise per week in 2025 — surpassing the national target of 55%.
Among children and adolescents aged 5 to 17, the share reaching the recommended 60 minutes of daily activity stood at 19% in 2025, pointing to continued room for growth in younger age groups.
Community sports groups continue to drive much of this momentum. More than 650 new sports groups were launched through the Sports for All app during the reported year, bringing together over 22,000 participants. Cumulatively, the platform has now hosted more than 9,000 sports groups and reached over 230,000 beneficiaries.
Why it matters
The figures reflect steady progress toward the active-lifestyle goals set under رؤية السعودية 2030, which places physical activity at the heart of public health and community wellbeing. Higher participation among adults, in particular, signals that organised group activities and app-based programs are reaching a widening audience.
The federation's current listed programs include 10B Steps, Riyadh Marathon 2026, and Active, offering residents across the Kingdom a range of ways to get moving. Registration conditions vary by event, so those interested in a specific program should check its individual requirements before taking part.
