Saudi Arabia has committed US$50 million over 10 years to the youth-led Messengers of Peace initiative, a program focused on peace and sustainable development. The investment was announced during the Human Capability Initiative 2025, held in Riyadh at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center on April 13–14, 2025.
The commitment is structured as a long-term programmatic investment and partnership rather than a one-off donation, aimed at empowering young people to lead peace-building and development efforts. It reflects a growing focus on youth as central actors in social progress.
The announcement sits within the wider work of the Human Capability Development Program, a Vision 2030 initiative launched in 2021 to strengthen citizens' skills, education, innovation, and readiness for the labor market. The program's 2025 delivery plan spans 89 initiatives across the human-capability ecosystem.
Why it matters
For residents and families across Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, the investment signals continued national attention on developing young talent and expanding opportunities for community engagement. Programs of this kind often open doors for volunteering, skills-building, and leadership among younger residents.
The initiative was framed as an investment and summit partnership. No fee, application channel, or permit requirement has been published for the public, as it is a development program rather than a paid government service.
