Saudi Arabia is broadening technical and vocational training in advanced manufacturing, robotics and renewable energy, delivered mainly through the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) and partner institutes under the Ministry of Education, as part of Vision 2030 efforts to build a skilled industrial workforce.
TVTC offers diploma and short courses across industrial, mechanical, electrical, electronics and automation fields that feed directly into manufacturing, robotics and renewable energy sectors. Programs run through technical colleges, industrial institutes and strategic partnership institutes across the Kingdom.
For Saudi nationals, tuition in core TVTC diploma programs is currently free, with fees set at SAR 0. Many industrial diploma and institute tracks also provide a monthly trainee stipend of around SAR 795 for eligible Saudi male trainees, while the study itself remains free of charge.
Alongside longer diplomas, TVTC and its partners run specialized short technical courses of roughly five months. These are free, pay the same monthly stipend of about SAR 795 to eligible trainees, and accept applicants from intermediate school level and above.
How to apply
Registration for TVTC technical and vocational programs, including industrial and energy-related tracks, is done through the national e-government portal's electronic service for technical and vocational training. Applicants create an account, browse available specializations, and submit applications online. After registering, they can view detailed requirements and admission status through the linked Qaboli portal.
Trainees access course materials, assignments and assessments via TVTC's e-training portal, which supports online and blended delivery. Additional supporting programs cover extra technical skills such as programming with Python, databases, cloud services and networking, with online registration through the Rayat self-service portal linked from the TVTC website. Trainees may enrol in up to five programs during each registration period. For residents and families weighing career paths, the expanded, largely free training offers a practical route into fast-growing industrial jobs.
