Saudi Arabia Expands Technical Training for Youth

Saudi Arabia is expanding technical and vocational training programs in advanced manufacturing, robotics and renewable energy to prepare young nationals for future industrial careers, with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) leading the effort under رؤية السعودية 2030.

TVTC operates technical colleges, industrial secondary institutes and private training facilities offering programs aligned with the Kingdom's industrial needs, including modern manufacturing and industrial automation. As of mid-2025, it listed 99 secondary industrial institutes and related facilities focused on industrial and construction training. In 2024, more than 335,000 trainees were enrolled in its programs across technical colleges, secondary industrial institutes, architectural and construction institutes, and prison training institutes.

Digital enrollment and free access

Enrollment in technical programs is handled online through TVTC's official portals. Applicants create an account, submit personal and educational details, choose a program and training facility, then confirm admission electronically. The TVTC Learning Management System (LMS) is listed as free of charge on the national e-services platform, with no service fee for using the platform itself. The LMS and main portals were updated across 2025–2026 to support registration, course delivery and performance tracking.

The Ministry of Education is working jointly with industrial companies on vocational programs covering advanced manufacturing, robotics and renewable energy engineering. National plans emphasize integrating robotics, automation and renewable energy skills into existing curricula, while TVTC's strategies and regulations were refreshed in 2025 to reflect industrial labor-market needs.

A new ABB Academy in الرياض, set up in partnership with the National Industrial Development Center, is scheduled to open in the second half of 2026. It will offer hands-on training in electrification technologies, energy management, digital systems, renewables, smart grids, Industry 4.0, intelligent buildings, data centers and advanced water systems.

For residents and young Saudis planning their careers, the expansion signals a growing number of practical, technology-focused pathways into industrial jobs, all accessible through free digital platforms.
