Saudi Arabia Launches Global Tourism Campaign

Saudi Arabia has launched a new global tourism campaign titled “I Came for Football, I Stayed for More,” rolled out under the wider “Saudi, Welcome to Arabia” brand. The campaign features football star Cristiano Ronaldo and aims to showcase the Kingdom to international audiences.

The campaign highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing calendar of sports, entertainment, cultural, fashion, and events offerings. It is designed to encourage visitors who arrive for major sporting moments to extend their stay and explore more of what the country has to offer.

According to the campaign’s focus, it targets key international markets in Europe, India, and China — regions seen as central to building long-term visitor numbers. The effort supports Saudi Arabia’s stated goal of welcoming 150 million visitors by 2030.

Why it matters

For residents and expats across Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities, the campaign signals continued expansion in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment. More international visitors typically means more events, dining, cultural attractions, and job opportunities within the sector.

Linking a globally recognized sports figure with the Kingdom’s broader attractions reflects an approach that blends sport with culture and lifestyle, positioning Saudi Arabia as a year-round destination. As the tourism sector grows, communities can expect an increasingly busy calendar of activities and experiences in the years ahead.
