Saudi Arabia has been formally confirmed as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup, following ratification by the FIFA Congress on 11 December 2024. The tournament is set to bring one of the world's largest sporting events to the Kingdom for the first time.
The 2034 edition is planned as a 48-team competition featuring 104 matches over roughly 38 days, staged in a November–December 2034 window. The official structure identifies five host cities: الرياض, جدة, Al Khobar in the Eastern Region, Abha, and نيوم.
The stadium program focuses on at least 14 venues, each with a minimum capacity of 40,000, centered on the five host cities. Among the key existing or planned venues are King Salman International Stadium in الرياض, with a capacity of around 92,000, designated to host the opening match and the final. King Fahd International Stadium (about 68,000) and Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium are also slated for renovation or expansion in الرياض. In جدة, King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (around 58,000–62,000) is planned for upgrades, alongside a new Jeddah Central Stadium.
