Saudi Arabia is expanding and modernizing its sports facilities under Saudi Vision 2030 as the Kingdom prepares to host a series of major international championships in the coming years, including the 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup and the FIFA World Cup 2034.
In Jeddah, King Abdullah Sports City accommodates more than 62,000 spectators and continues to host regional and international championships. Nearby, Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City has been redeveloped and prepared for the 2026 Arabian Gulf Cup. The tournament will be held in Jeddah at Al-Inma Stadium, formerly known as King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, and at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium.
In the capital, King Fahd Sports City is undergoing a comprehensive modernization to prepare it for future international events. These upgrades form part of a wider national push to raise the standard of sporting venues across the country.
Building toward 2034
Saudi Arabia's plan for the FIFA World Cup 2034 includes 15 stadiums spread across five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and NEOM. The plan comprises 11 new stadiums alongside four existing sports cities that will be extensively upgraded.
The Kingdom's busy calendar also includes the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, scheduled for Riyadh from 13 to 21 December 2026.
For residents and visitors, the growing network of world-class venues means more opportunities to attend top-level sporting events close to home, while supporting the wider goals of Saudi Vision 2030. Confirmed ticket prices, entry fees, operating hours, and official booking channels for these events have not yet been announced.
