Saudi Electronic University Renamed by Royal Order

Saudi Electronic University has been officially renamed Prince Musaed bin Abdulrahman University, following a royal directive issued by King Salman on 18 September 2026, based on a recommendation from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.

The institution, whose Arabic name is now جامعة الأمير مساعد بن عبدالرحمن, was established in Riyadh in 2011 and has since grown to operate 17 branches across Saudi Arabia. It has become one of the country's key providers of higher education delivered through blended and digital learning models.

The renaming affects the university's official identity, and existing references may continue to use the previous name of Saudi Electronic University during the transition period. This means students, graduates, and staff can expect a gradual update of official documents and platforms.

What it means for students

For current and prospective students, the change is primarily one of name and identity. No confirmed changes for 2026 were identified regarding tuition fees, application fees, payment deadlines, validity periods, admission procedures, or the university's official digital-service channels.

The university's wide network of branches continues to serve learners in multiple regions of the Kingdom, supporting access to higher education for residents and working professionals alike. Applicants and enrolled students are advised to rely on the university's official channels for the latest updates as the new name is rolled out across its services.
