Saudi Arabia's stock of foreign direct investment (FDI) rose to about SR1,122.8 billion by the end of the first quarter of 2026, a 12% increase compared with the same period a year earlier,
The Kingdom's total foreign investment stock — which includes both direct and other forms of foreign investment — reached around SR3,530.8 billion by the end of Q1 2026, marking an 18% year-on-year rise. Within that total, FDI accounted for roughly 32%.
Why it matters
The steady climb in foreign investment reflects continued interest from international investors in the Saudi market and aligns with the broader economic goals of رؤية السعودية 2030, which places attracting foreign capital at the center of efforts to diversify the economy beyond oil.
For residents and expats, growing foreign investment often translates into more business activity, new companies entering the market, and expanded job opportunities across sectors in cities such as الرياض and جدة. The rising share of direct investment, in particular, points to longer-term commitments from companies establishing or expanding operations in the Kingdom.
سعودي ليفنج will continue to follow developments in the Kingdom's investment landscape as new figures become available.
