27,360 Chevrolet Cars Recalled in Saudi Arabia

Saudi authorities have recalled 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles in the Kingdom over a driver-side airbag inflator defect that could eject metal fragments during a crash, posing a risk to the driver and passengers.

The recall covers three models across several model years: the Trax (2010–2017), the Cruze (2012–2018), and the Aveo (2010–2017). Owners of these vehicles are urged to verify whether their car is affected as soon as possible.

To check, owners should enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through the official platform Recalls.sa. If the vehicle is included in the recall, the required repairs will be carried out free of charge.

Where to get repairs

Affected owners can arrange the fix through the approved service channels: General Motors, Aljomaih Automotive Company, and Universal Motors Agencies.

Airbag inflator defects are considered a serious safety concern because the component is designed to protect occupants in an accident. If it malfunctions, it can cause injury rather than prevent it. For residents and expats across Riyadh, Jeddah and other cities who drive one of these models, checking the VIN is a simple, no-cost step that could prevent a dangerous outcome.

Saudi Living advises all owners of the listed Chevrolet models to confirm their vehicle's status without delay and to book the free repair if their car is affected.
