Saudi Investments Hit SAR 6 Trillion Since 2021

Saudi Arabia has attracted close to SAR 6 trillion in cumulative domestic and international investments since the launch of its National Investment Strategy in 2021, the Minister of Investment announced, pointing to steady momentum across priority economic sectors.

gross fixed capital formation — a key measure of spending on long-term assets such as infrastructure, factories, and equipment — rose from SAR 704 billion in 2020 to SAR 1.35 trillion in 2025, nearly doubling over five years.

The National Investment Strategy sets ambitious targets for the decade. Its cumulative investment goal for 2021 through 2030 exceeds SAR 12.4 trillion. By 2030, it aims to lift gross fixed capital formation to SAR 2 trillion, equivalent to 30% of GDP, and to raise foreign direct investment to SAR 388 billion, compared with just SAR 17 billion in 2019.

Why it matters

The strategy focuses on sectors expected to shape the Kingdom's future economy, including green energy, technology, healthcare, biotechnology, advanced mobility, logistics, startups, and entrepreneurship. For residents and businesses in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, sustained investment on this scale points to continued job creation, new projects, and expanding opportunities across the private sector in the years ahead.
