Saudi Fintech Hala Raises $157M, Valued at $900M

A Saudi fintech company named Hala, headquartered in Riyadh, has raised about USD 157 million in a Series B funding round completed in September 2025 — one of the largest fintech Series B rounds in the Middle East. The round lifted the company's valuation to approximately USD 900 million (around SAR 3.375 billion at an assumed rate of 1 USD ≈ 3.75 SAR), a figure reported as approximate rather than an official fixed number.

The round was co-led by TPG and Sanabil Investments, a division of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with participation from several global and regional venture investors and funds.

Hala focuses on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and freelancers across the Kingdom, offering digital business accounts, payments, cards, lending and embedded financial services. Its product line includes SME accounts, corporate cards, payment acceptance solutions, and lending designed to support business growth and cash-flow management.

The company says it serves more than 140,000 small businesses across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and processes around USD 8 billion in transactions annually. Hala operates as a fintech regulated by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), under the Kingdom's financial sector regulations and fintech framework.

Why it matters

The fresh capital is intended to strengthen Hala's position in the Saudi market, expand its embedded financial services and lending offerings, and support regional expansion beyond the Kingdom. For Saudi small businesses and freelancers, the growth of homegrown digital banking tools points to more options for managing accounts, accepting payments, and accessing financing — a segment central to the wider push to diversify and digitize the Kingdom's economy.
