Riyadh-based fintech company Abwab.ai has raised SAR 15 million (US$4 million) in seed funding to grow its artificial intelligence–powered credit infrastructure for financial institutions that serve small and medium-sized businesses in Saudi Arabia.
The funding round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP). The company said the capital will support the expansion of its technology solutions and lending infrastructure across the Kingdom.
What the company does
Abwab.ai builds technology that helps banks and licensed lenders make faster, data-driven credit decisions. Its platform covers credit decisioning, digital loan origination, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, risk-based pricing, and embedded financing.
Importantly, Abwab.ai does not lend money directly. Regulated financial institutions retain full control over lending approvals and carry the capital exposure, while the company provides the underlying technology that streamlines the process.
Why it matters
Small and medium-sized enterprises are a central pillar of the Saudi economy and often face challenges in accessing timely financing. By modernizing how lenders assess and manage credit, Abwab.ai aims to help financial institutions serve this segment more efficiently. This supports broader national efforts to strengthen the SME sector and expand access to digital financial services in the Kingdom.
