The homeownership rate among Saudi families reached 66.24% by the end of 2025, exceeding the 65% annual target set under the national Housing Program and moving closer to the 70% goal under رؤية السعودية 2030.
The figure marks steady progress from a baseline of 47% in 2016, a gain of more than 19 percentage points over roughly a decade. Interim housing indicators had already recorded 65.4% in 2024, surpassing the 2025 target ahead of schedule, with the 70% target for 2030 assessed as on track.
Cumulative housing support
The rise reflects sustained support delivered through the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and its affiliated programs. More than 1,028,000 subsidized housing and financing contracts were issued to Saudi families between 2017 and the end of the first quarter of 2026.
For families across the Kingdom, the growth points to expanded access to home financing and subsidized ownership options, a priority that has shaped housing policy over recent years. Ownership programs have widened the pool of citizens able to purchase or build homes, easing the path from renting to owning.
No official year-end 2026 national homeownership percentage has yet been published. The latest formally stated figure remains 66.24% for the end of 2025, with ongoing incremental increases indicated by more recent program updates but not yet quantified as a new national rate.
