Saudi authorities are continuing joint security campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom to catch violators of residency, labor, and border security rules, with weekly arrests typically ranging between 14,000 and more than 22,000. The campaigns are nationwide and are regularly intensified ahead of major national occasions and peak seasons.
Penalties are severe. Anyone who facilitates illegal entry, or transports, shelters, or assists border violators faces up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching 1,000,000 SAR, along with confiscation of vehicles and housing used in the offense and public naming of those involved.
Employers are also targeted. Allowing a sponsored worker to work for others or for the employer's personal benefit can lead to a fine of up to 100,000 SAR, imprisonment for up to six months, and a ban on recruiting workers for up to five years. The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) imposes imprisonment, financial fines, and deportation orders on residency and work violators.
Deportation remains a core outcome of the crackdown, with tens of thousands of violators deported or being processed for travel documents and procedures. At times, more than 30,000 people have been under ongoing legal processing at once.
How to Report and Stay Compliant
Members of the public can report residency, labor, and border violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other regions.
Residents and employers are encouraged to keep their status regular through official digital channels. أبشر offers individual services for the Iqama, traffic matters, government fee payment through SADAD, and handling fines linked to the Iqama and vehicle plate, while مقيم supports employers in managing worker records and compliance. Keeping documents valid helps residents and businesses avoid penalties as enforcement continues nationwide.
