Saudi Sports for All Joins 29th TAFISA Congress

The Saudi Sports for All Federation took part in the 29th TAFISA World Congress, held in Prague, Czech Republic, from 13 to 17 May 2026, where delegates gathered to discuss inclusive, community-based sport and physical activity.

The Saudi delegation was led by Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal, president of the federation. During the congress, the delegation joined board meetings, discussion panels, exhibitions, and the General Assembly, engaging with international counterparts on how to widen participation in everyday physical activity.

The congress focused on the principles of sport for all — making physical activity accessible to people of every age and ability, rather than limiting it to elite or competitive athletes. These themes align closely with ongoing efforts across the Kingdom to encourage healthier, more active lifestyles in local communities.

Why it matters

Saudi Arabia's participation supported preparations to host the 8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games in Riyadh in 2028. The event is expected to bring a global gathering of community sport to the capital, offering residents and visitors a chance to take part in a wide range of recreational activities.

For residents and families, the growing focus on community sport points to more accessible opportunities to stay active close to home. The road to the 2028 Games in Riyadh is likely to feature expanded programs and events that welcome participants of all backgrounds and fitness levels.
