A new football venue is taking shape in the Kingdom's Eastern Province. Aramco Stadium, currently under construction in northern Al Khobar, is expected to be completed and opened in 2026, with its first matches scheduled for January 2027.
Once finished, the stadium is planned to seat approximately 47,000 spectators, positioning it as a major addition to Saudi Arabia's growing roster of sporting venues.
The venue is set to play a central role in the AFC Asian Cup 2027, which will use the stadium in January of that year. the first matches include Australia against Singapore on 9 January and Palestine against Kuwait on 12 January 2027.
Why it matters
The project reflects the Kingdom's continued investment in sports infrastructure, offering residents and football fans across the Eastern Province a new world-class destination. Hosting matches of a continental tournament such as the Asian Cup is expected to draw visitors to Al Khobar and boost local activity around the event.
At this stage, no confirmed ticket prices in ريال سعودي, visitor timings, or general admission procedures have been made publicly available. Saudi Living will share further details on access and attendance as official information is released ahead of the opening.
