Saudi Sports for All Model Featured in London

The Saudi Sports for All Federation presented the Kingdom's community-sports and public-health model at Leaders Week London 2026, held on 7–8 October at Stamford Bridge.

During the showcase, the Federation highlighted how Saudi Arabia has expanded everyday physical activity through a range of nationwide programs. These include community sports groups, physical-activity challenges, the 10 Billion Steps initiative, and the Riyadh Marathon.

One of the clearest signs of this growth is the Riyadh Marathon itself. The event has grown from 10,000 runners in 2022 to more than 50,000 in 2026. The marathon has also received Elite label certification from World Athletics, placing it among the globally recognised distance events.

Why it matters

For residents across the Kingdom, the showcase reflects a wider push to make movement and sport part of daily life. By building accessible programs that welcome runners, walkers, and community groups of all levels, the Federation is encouraging healthier habits for both Saudis and expatriates.

The international presence in London also positions the Kingdom's grassroots sports approach as a reference point for other countries looking to raise public participation in physical activity, supporting broader national goals around well-being and active living.
