The Saudi main stock index (TASI) ended Thursday's session on a positive note, closing at 10,954.46 points on 20 August 2026. The index added 28.77 points, a gain of roughly 0.26%, extending its recent upward run amid active trading.
Turnover on the main market reached about SAR 5.0–5.1 billion for the session, with around 260 million shares changing hands. Market breadth leaned firmly positive: roughly 170 companies advanced while about 90 declined.
During the day the index touched an intraday high near 10,961 points and a low of about 10,909 points before settling higher. The close ranks among the strongest levels seen since June 2026, reflecting steady demand and continued activity in the market.
On the parallel market (Nomu), the picture was different, with the index closing lower at around 21,571.86 points. Trading value there was modest at close to SAR 15 million, with about 2.6 million shares traded.
Why it matters
For residents and investors following the Saudi market, a higher close backed by healthy turnover signals ongoing confidence and liquidity. Steady gains and broad participation across listed companies point to an active trading environment as the market holds near multi-month highs.
