Saudi Trade Surplus Rises 62% to SR61.52bn in Q2 2026

Saudi Arabia recorded a trade surplus of SR61.52 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a 62% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, as the value of exports comfortably outpaced imports.

Exports reached about SR285.98 billion during the quarter, while imports stood at roughly SR224.46 billion. The gap between the two figures produced the surplus, marking one of the stronger year-on-year gains in recent quarters.

A trade surplus occurs when a country sells more goods abroad than it buys from other markets. The wider margin in Q2 2026 points to healthy demand for Saudi goods overseas alongside steady import activity.

For residents and the wider business community, a rising surplus is generally seen as a sign of economic strength. It reflects continued export flows and can support the broader diversification goals under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to grow non-oil sectors and expand the Kingdom's presence in global trade.

The figures cover the April-to-June period of 2026 only and give a snapshot of the Kingdom's external trade performance during the quarter.
