Sehhaty & Seha Apps: A Practical Guide for KSA

Two of the most useful digital tools for anyone living in Saudi Arabia are the Ministry of Health's Sehhaty and Seha apps. Sehhaty is the unified health platform for citizens and residents, letting you book clinic appointments, schedule vaccinations, and view parts of your medical record. Seha is a separate telemedicine app built mainly for remote consultations with doctors. This Saudi Living guide explains what each app does, how to register, and how to get the most out of them.

Sehhaty vs. Seha: What's the Difference?

It's easy to confuse the two because both are run by the Ministry of Health, but they serve different purposes:

  • Sehhaty (صحتي) is the all-in-one platform for primary care, vaccinations, and viewing your health record from MOH facilities.
  • Seha (صحة) is focused on telemedicine — video and remote consultations with a physician when you don't need to visit a clinic in person.

For most day-to-day needs — booking a family medicine visit, scheduling a vaccine, or checking test results — Sehhaty is the app you'll open. Seha is handy when you want quick medical advice without leaving home.

Is It Free?

Downloading and using Sehhaty is completely free for all users. When it comes to appointments and consultations:

  • MOH primary care clinic appointments booked through Sehhaty are free for Saudi citizens.
  • For residents covered by Compulsory Cooperative Health Insurance, there is generally no direct cash payment at the time of booking; billing is handled through your insurance or MOH channels.
  • Teleconsultations and video visits through Seha or MOH telemedicine programs carry no separate booking fee inside the app. Any charges are tied to your insurance or MOH coverage at the facility you consult.

Specific fee structures for paid telemedicine packages are not published, so if a facility mentions a charge, confirm the details before proceeding.

Core Services in Sehhaty

Sehhaty bundles several essential health services in one place:

  • Clinic appointment booking for family medicine, vaccinations, and chronic disease follow-up.
  • Vaccination services, including Hajj and Umrah vaccines, with scheduling and status display.
  • Health record access — view test results, prescriptions, and visit history from MOH facilities.
  • Public-health services such as test booking and vaccination status when activated (some COVID-era features may now be reduced or repurposed).
  • Integration with other MOH e-services, including 937 support and the Wasfaty e-prescription program for eligible users.

How to Register and Log In

Your Sehhaty identity is linked to your National ID or Iqama record, so you'll need a valid mobile number registered against that ID. The typical steps are:

  • Download Sehhaty from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • Open the app and choose new registration.
  • Enter your ID or Iqama number and your linked mobile number.
  • Verify with the one-time password sent by SMS.
  • Create your credentials and complete your profile — name, date of birth, and dependents where applicable.

Many government apps in the Kingdom are progressively enabling Nafath login. If you see a Nafath option, it usually offers a faster, more secure sign-in. Always confirm the current login steps on the official Ministry of Health channels if the flow differs from what you expect.

Booking a Hajj or Umrah Vaccine

Sehhaty is the main channel for pilgrimage-related vaccinations. The process is straightforward:

  • Review your health status inside the app.
  • Select "book new appointment" or pick an available slot.
  • Confirm your booking and keep the appointment details handy.

Book early during peak Hajj and Umrah seasons, as slots at nearby centres fill quickly.

Tips for a Smooth Experience

  • Make sure your mobile number is up to date on your National ID or Iqama record before registering.
  • Add eligible dependents to your profile so you can manage the whole family's appointments in one place.
  • Check test results and prescriptions in your health record before follow-up visits to save time.
  • Use Seha for quick remote advice, and Sehhaty for in-person bookings and vaccinations.
  • When in doubt about fees or eligibility, verify details through the official Ministry of Health service channels.
