Six Groups Qualify to Bid on Qassim Airport PPP

Six entities have been shortlisted to bid for a long-term partnership to develop and operate Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in the Qassim region, in a project structured as a 30-year concession that includes the construction phase.

The airport, located about 25 kilometers from Buraidah, is being offered under Saudi Arabia's airport privatization and public-private partnership program. The qualified bidders comprise five consortia and one standalone company. They are: a group led by Egis with YDA Insaat, Safari Group and Lamar Holding; Ports Projects Management & Development Company with Al Gihaz Holding; TAV Airports Holding with Mada International Holding; a consortium including Namaya International Investment Company, Oman Airports Management Company and AlBawani Capital; Vision Invest with Asyad Holding and daa International; and GMR Airports as a standalone bidder.

The selection follows a multi-stage process. An Expression of Interest stage invited local, regional and international investors to participate, with submissions closing on 23 February 2026 at 11:59 pm Saudi time through the investor portal. A total of 89 entities expressed interest, including 55 Saudi and 34 international companies spanning developers, EPC contractors, operators, advisors, equity investors and financial institutions. A prequalification phase then assessed candidates on technical, financial and experience criteria before the final six were shortlisted.

The project's stated goals are to modernize airport infrastructure, improve operational efficiency and enhance passenger services. For residents and travelers in Qassim, the partnership is expected to expand and upgrade air travel options as the airport moves toward private-sector management and investment.
