More than 85,000 students across the Al-Baha region began the 2026–2027 academic year on Sunday, 23 August 2026, in schools supervised by the General Administration of Education in Al-Baha Region.
Ahead of the start of term, schools completed maintenance, cleaning, and readiness checks to prepare classrooms and facilities. On the first day, reception and orientation programs welcomed students and familiarized them with their schedules, school facilities, and rules.
The 2026–2027 school year operates on a two-semester system, which was restored nationally beginning with the 2025–2026 year. The national academic calendar for public schools is issued and updated by the Ministry of Education and published through its official electronic channels.
In Al-Baha, the start date of 23 August 2026 applies as scheduled. A later start of 30 August 2026 affects only certain other regions and does not apply to Al-Baha.
What families should know
Public schools in Al-Baha do not charge tuition for Saudi students, as study is provided free of charge. Standard costs that families may cover — such as uniforms, supplies, and transport — are market-based and are not set by the Ministry of Education, and there are no official fee schedules specific to Al-Baha public school enrollment.
Registration and transfer processes for public schools are handled through the Ministry of Education's systems and school administration offices. There are no newly announced mandatory government fees for 2026 tied specifically to starting the school year in Al-Baha public schools, whether for enrollment, attendance, or use of ministry systems.
