Mawhiba concluded its first Elite Forum 2026 in Riyadh, qualifying 259 male and female students to train for representing Saudi Arabia in regional and international science and math Olympiads. The forum was held as part of the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The Elite Forum marks the first training stage for students who advanced to the final round of the National Science and Mathematics Olympiad (NSMO), along with students nominated to the astronomy and space specialization from the physics track. Training ran for 12 days and covered seven scientific disciplines: mathematics, chemistry, physics, astronomy and space, biology, informatics, and science.
Sessions were delivered by specialized Olympiad trainers and experts, positioning the forum as a key step in preparing students to join national teams that will represent the Kingdom in international competitions. Students reached this stage after passing all qualification rounds of NSMO or being nominated from the physics track for astronomy and astrophysics.
The student journey
Within the Mawhiba International Olympiad Program, the path begins with participating in NSMO and completing all qualification stages, then progressing into advanced training camps starting with the First Elite Forum. Continuous qualification exams then determine which students are included in the national teams for each discipline. Eligibility to compete internationally runs from Grade 8 to Grade 12, and students must maintain their performance through repeated exams to keep their place.
The achievement highlights the growing pipeline of Saudi talent in the sciences and reflects wider national efforts to nurture gifted students. Registration and management of the National Science and Mathematics Olympiad and related camps are handled through Mawhiba's online portal, where students create an account, select the service, complete the required information, and accept the terms.
