Riyadh is set to host the Riyadh Marathon Festival 2026, a four-day community sports and wellness event running from 28 to 31 January 2026 at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. Organized by the Saudi Sports for All Federation, the festival combines elite competition with family-friendly activities open to residents of all ages and fitness levels.
The festival's marathon race day falls on the final day, while the festival area at Princess Nourah University offers free public access on the non-race days of 28 to 30 January. Alongside the running events, visitors can enjoy entertainment, cultural experiences, and community-focused activities designed to encourage active lifestyles across the capital.
The 2026 edition features four race distances to suit different participants: a 42 km full marathon, a 21 km half marathon, a 10 km run, and a 5 km family run aimed at bringing families together. This range of categories reflects the event's goal of inclusive participation, welcoming everyone from competitive athletes to first-time runners.
A recurring community event
The Riyadh Marathon is positioned as a national community event that has become part of the Kingdom's social fabric, promoting health, active living, and community unity in line with رؤية السعودية 2030 quality-of-life goals. It is organized by the Saudi Sports for All Federation in partnership with the Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Arabian Athletics Federation, with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City joining as a partner in the 2026 edition.
Registration for the chosen race distance is handled online through the event's official registration channels. Those wishing to take part should complete their sign-up ahead of race day and select their preferred category, whether the full marathon or the family run.
