Tabuk Cement H1 Profit Drops 83% to SAR 4.6M

Tabuk Cement has reported a sharp drop in profitability for the first half of its current financial year, with net profit attributable to shareholders falling to SAR 4.6 million, down about 83% from SAR 27.2 million in the same period a year earlier.

The company's first-half revenues declined to SAR 113.19 million, a fall of roughly 17–18% compared with SAR 137.09 million in the prior-year period. The results reflect changing market conditions affecting the cement sector.

The quarterly figures show the pressure intensified as the period progressed. First-quarter revenues stood at SAR 62.55 million with net income of SAR 4.10 million, compared with SAR 67.68 million and SAR 13.04 million respectively a year earlier. Second-quarter revenues then dropped about 19% to SAR 50.64 million, while net income slid roughly 88% to just SAR 0.51 million.

The softer performance follows a longer downward trend. In the prior full year, sales reached SAR 287.04 million, down about 16–17% from SAR 343.36 million, while full-year net profit attributable to shareholders fell around 53% to SAR 37.29 million from SAR 79.56 million.

Why it matters

For residents and businesses following the Saudi market, cement makers are a useful barometer of construction and real-estate activity. Shifts in demand and pricing can ripple through to project timelines and building costs across the Kingdom. The disclosures were made through the Saudi securities exchange's issuer announcements and the company's own financial reports; they concern listed-company performance only and involve no fees, visa steps, or government e-services.
