King Khalid Racecourse in Taif kicks off the seventh week of the 2026 Taif racing season on Friday 4 September and Saturday 5 September 2026, with 22 races spread across two evening meetings and a total prize pool exceeding SAR 1.7 million.
Each of the two cards, the 13th and 14th evening meetings of the season, features 11 races, bringing the week's total to 22 contests across a range of classes. Individual race prize money starts from SAR 75,000 and rises significantly for the week's marquee events.
The standout race is the Taif Sprint Cup for two-year-olds, run over 1,200 meters on Saturday, with a prize purse of SAR 350,000. The week's program also includes three preparatory races carrying SAR 120,000 each: a 1,400-meter preparatory race for the King Khalid Racecourse Fillies and Mares Championship, a 1,600-meter open-class preparatory race, and a Jockey Club Challenge preparatory race for two-year-olds over 1,600 meters.
Part of a bigger season

The season builds toward major end-of-season fixtures, including the King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Cup (Group 3) and the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Cup (Listed) for Purebred Arabians, each worth SAR 1 million, both on 25 September. The National Day Cup for Thoroughbreds, worth SAR 450,000, follows on 26 September as part of Saudi National Day Cup Night.
