Wael Al-Fayez Named Kings League MENA Director

Kings League MENA has appointed Saudi sports and media executive Wael Al-Fayez as its first managing director, in a move announced in September 2026 that strengthens the competition's leadership ahead of its expanded season in Riyadh.

In his new role, Al-Fayez will oversee commercial strategy, major partnerships, and operational growth across the Middle East and North Africa. He becomes the first person to hold the position, giving the league a dedicated figure to drive its regional ambitions.

Al-Fayez joins from the Saudi Pro League, where he served as chief commercial officer. His experience in sports commercial operations is expected to support the league as it grows its presence in the region.

What it means for fans in Riyadh

The appointment comes as Kings League MENA prepares for an expanded Split 1 featuring 10 teams. The season is scheduled to run in Riyadh from 18 September to 30 October 2026, with matches set to take place at Cool Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City.

For residents and visitors in the capital, the tournament adds to Riyadh's growing calendar of live sports and entertainment, offering local fans the chance to watch fast-paced, format-driven football close to home. Ticket prices, booking channels, and venue operating hours had not been confirmed at the time of writing.
