Saudi Arabia has appointed Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih as Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers, effective 12 February 2026. On the same day, he was relieved of his post as Minister of Investment.
Al-Falih had led وزارة الاستثمار since 25 February 2020, overseeing the ministry's work to attract and facilitate foreign and domestic investment in the Kingdom over nearly six years.
Under the same royal decree issued on 12 February 2026, Fahd bin Abduljalil bin Ali Al-Saif was appointed as the new Minister of Investment, taking over the leadership of the ministry.
Why it matters
وزارة الاستثمار plays a central role in the Kingdom's economic diversification efforts under رؤية السعودية 2030, working with investors, businesses, and expat professionals looking to establish or expand operations in Saudi Arabia. Leadership changes at the ministry are of interest to the wider business and professional community across الرياض, جدة, and other cities.
Al-Falih's new role as Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers keeps him within the senior government team, while Al-Saif steps in to guide the ministry's ongoing work supporting the local investment environment.
