Al-Mazyad Named Vice Minister of Tourism

A new royal order has appointed Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed bin Hamoud Al-Mazyad as Deputy (Vice) Minister of Tourism at the “excellent rank.” The order, numbered O/277, was issued on 24 Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 12 February 2026, and published in the official gazette on 13 February 2026.

The order directs that it be communicated to the competent entities for adoption and implementation, which makes the appointment effective from the date of issuance. It forms part of a wider government reshuffle reported in early February 2026, while the Minister of Tourism remains Ahmed Al Khateeb.

Before this appointment, Al-Mazyad served as Deputy Minister for Licensing and Classification at the Ministry of Tourism. In that role he oversaw the licensing and classification of hospitality and tourism establishments, including quality standards and regulatory compliance across the sector.
