Aramco Signs $3.7bn Deals With French Companies

Aramco and Aramco Digital have signed a series of agreements and memoranda of understanding with French companies carrying a potential combined value exceeding USD 3.7 billion (about SAR 13.8 billion). The package was announced on 24 August 2026 during a French–Saudi investment roundtable tied to high-level engagements between the two countries.

The agreements focus on project support, capacity building, technology transfer and innovation, and strengthening supply chain resilience. They span both the industrial and digital sides of Aramco's operations.

What the package covers

The deals include a corporate procurement agreement for drilling equipment and oil and gas well drilling materials, as well as a separate procurement agreement for Oil Country Tubular Goods — the steel pipes used across oil and gas fields. On the technology side, a memorandum of understanding with Aramco Digital addresses industrial artificial intelligence and virtual, or digital twin, technologies, including potential applications in the oil and gas sector.

Identified French counterparties include SLB and Vallourec for drilling materials and steel pipes, and Dassault Systèmes for cooperation on AI and digital twin technologies.

These are corporate commercial and technology agreements between companies. They do not involve individual fees or any procedures for residents or visitors. For the wider community, the significance lies in deepening industrial and technology ties, supporting local capacity building and knowledge transfer, and reinforcing supply chains that underpin the Kingdom's energy sector and its broader economic diversification goals.
