Dell Technologies and Armada have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during LEAP 2026 in Riyadh to accelerate the deployment of containerized mobile and edge data center solutions across Saudi Arabia. The agreement sets a strategic framework for collaboration announced in September 2026.
The partnership combines Dell’s enterprise hardware and modern infrastructure stack with Armada’s specialized mobile, containerized data center solutions. Together, the two companies aim to deliver high-performance infrastructure that brings compute and storage closer to where data is actually generated across the Kingdom.
The initiative targets high-demand projects that need fast, flexible access to localized compute and storage. It will focus on four key sectors — energy, telecommunications, manufacturing, and public infrastructure — with reach expanded through Dell’s authorized regional channel partner network.
Armada’s role centers on mobile, containerized edge data centers, referred to as “pods” or “Galleons,” designed for rapid, ruggedized deployment in both remote and urban locations. These units are built to provide low-latency, high-performance compute and AI-enabled services at the edge, supporting real-time edge AI applications, Open RAN and 5G ecosystems.
Why it matters
For businesses and communities in Saudi Arabia, the model is designed to strengthen data sovereignty within the Kingdom and maintain operational continuity in remote or resource-constrained environments. It aligns with the wider push toward digital transformation.
As of early September 2026, no Saudi-specific pricing in Saudi Riyal, fee schedules, or customer tariffs have been disclosed, and no customer onboarding steps or contract terms have been publicly detailed. The initiative is described as a commercial and technical partnership rather than a regulated citizen or labor service, and it does not involve government e-services portals.
