Faihan Al-Sahli Named Director General of Investigation

A Royal Order has appointed Faihan bin Fahd bin Ghazi Al-Sahli as Director General of the General Directorate of Investigation, with the excellent rank, in one of the Kingdom's senior state appointments.

The Royal Order, numbered A/279, was issued on 24 Sha'ban 1447, corresponding to 12 February 2026, and was published in Umm Al-Qura issue 5144 dated 13 February 2026. The order directs that it be communicated to the competent entities for adoption and implementation, taking effect immediately from its issuance date.

The General Directorate of Investigation operates under the Presidency of State Security and is responsible for criminal and security investigations at the national level. The role of Director General falls within the excellent rank, a top-tier senior civil service position distinct from ministerial rank.

What it means for the community

The appointment is an internal leadership and administrative decision. It does not introduce any new procedures, fees, or public e-services for citizens or residents, and there are no changes tied to it across everyday government platforms.

Routine interaction with the General Directorate of Investigation continues to take place through judicial, security, and prosecutorial channels rather than public service portals. No validity periods or application steps are attached to this Royal Order.
