Fawaz Al-Sahli Named President of Transport Authority

Fawaz Al-Sahli has been appointed president of the Transport General Authority (TGA) in Saudi Arabia, following a royal order announced on 13 February 2026.

The TGA serves as the regulatory and legislative body overseeing land, rail, and maritime transport across the Kingdom. In this role, it sets the rules and standards that govern how transport services operate for residents and businesses nationwide.

The appointment places Al-Sahli at the head of an authority whose work touches everyday life for millions of residents and expats — from bus and truck services to railways and maritime routes that move people and goods across the country.

Why it matters

The transport sector is a key part of the Kingdom's broader development plans, and effective regulation supports safer roads, smoother logistics, and better-connected cities. Leadership at the TGA plays a direct role in shaping the quality and reliability of transport services that communities depend on daily.

Residents and businesses can reach the Transport General Authority through its public contact channel on 19929, or via its main phone line on 0118261111 for inquiries related to land, rail, and maritime transport.
