FileCloud has expanded its regional headquarters in Riyadh, strengthening data protection, data residency and data sovereignty services for government and private-sector organizations across Saudi Arabia. The Riyadh base serves as the company's center for Middle East and North Africa operations.
The company has supported Saudi customers since 2016 and formalized its Riyadh regional headquarters in 2025, before expanding its investments and capabilities further in 2026 to meet local data protection needs. The expansion offers flexible deployment options, including on-premises, hybrid, and—from late 2026—a locally hosted cloud service inside the Kingdom.
FileCloud says its deployment options allow all content and metadata to be hosted in-Kingdom, aligning with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) on data localization and privacy. The platform includes a specialized PDPL configuration within its Compliance Center that maps regulatory obligations to platform controls to help organizations with compliance and audit readiness.
As part of the expansion, FileCloud offers native integration with Signit, a Saudi-built e-signature platform, enabling sovereign e-signature workflows with in-Kingdom data residency. The integration is available in current releases and supports digital signature workflows tailored to Saudi e-signature and trust requirements, with documents stored and processed within Saudi data centers.
What's next
The company is investing in sovereign AI-powered collaboration features designed to run on infrastructure that respects local data control and residency. A Saudi-hosted cloud SaaS service is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, with early-access signups for the sovereign AI collaboration and local SaaS offerings due to open in September 2026.
The offerings target organizations undertaking digital transformation projects that must comply with PDPL and sectoral regulations while keeping sensitive and regulated data within Saudi-based infrastructure.
