The Saudi Business Center has introduced a free service that lets merchants obtain official verification for their online stores, with consumers now able to confirm an authenticated store directly through the Tawakkalna application. The service carries no fee and is processed within five to seven business days.
To apply, a merchant needs a valid commercial registration or a valid freelance work document, along with a bank account linked to that registration or document. Applications are submitted through the Saudi Business Center Business Platform, which is now the approved channel after online-store verification moved from the Maroof platform.
Once approved, the applicant receives an authenticated online-store verification certificate. There is no separate fixed validity period for the verification; it remains valid as long as the commercial registration or freelance work document and the linked bank account stay active.
How shoppers can check a store
Through Tawakkalna, consumers can verify an authenticated store using several details: the verification number, the unified national number, freelance-document details, the commercial name, or a direct link to the store.
The move matters for the growing community of online shoppers across the Kingdom. Being able to confirm that a store is officially authenticated adds a layer of trust to everyday purchases and helps buyers make safer decisions when ordering from local sellers. For merchants, free verification offers a straightforward way to build credibility with customers and stand out in a crowded e-commerce market.
