The Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) is set to carry out a nationwide survey in 2026 to measure values and behaviors in Saudi society, covering all regions, cities, and affiliated governorates of the Kingdom. The survey targets Saudi citizens within households across the country.
the survey aims to measure how citizens reflect key principles and values in their daily lives and interactions. These include honesty, determination, discipline, positivity, and moderation, as well as pride in the Islamic religion, the homeland, the Arabic language, and the Kingdom's heritage.
Data will be collected through two main methods: field visits by GASTAT researchers to selected households, and self-completion questionnaires provided to sampled individuals and households. The survey is one of several social-domain studies within GASTAT's broader 2026 statistical activities, which also span economic, environmental, and spatial fields.
Free participation and data rights
Participation in the survey is free of charge, with no fees required from respondents. Involvement takes place directly through GASTAT — either via an interviewer's field visit or through a provided self-completion form — and does not require the use of any external government platform.
Respondents also retain rights over their personal data. They may obtain a copy of their data held by GASTAT within seven days, at no cost, by contacting the Data Governance unit via email. Individuals also have the right to object to the processing of their personal data within the applicable legal limits, and to request the transfer of their data to another entity as a paid service. Complaints regarding data protection may be submitted by email.
The survey reflects a growing focus on understanding social trends across the Kingdom, offering a snapshot of shared values as part of ongoing national development efforts.
