Haytham Al-Ohali Named Governor of Saudi CST

Saudi Arabia has appointed Haytham Al-Ohali as Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), effective 12 February 2026. The appointment was made by royal decree at the excellent rank.

Before taking up the role, Al-Ohali served as Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, bringing experience from within the sector he will now oversee.

The CST is the national authority responsible for regulating the communications, space, and technology sectors in the Kingdom. Its work touches areas that affect daily life for residents and expats alike, from mobile and internet services to the wider technology ecosystem shaping the country's digital future.

The leadership change comes as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its telecommunications and technology infrastructure, a priority area for the community given the growing reliance on connectivity, digital government services, and online platforms across Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond.

The appointment reflects the ongoing focus on developing the Kingdom's technology and space sectors, which remain central to national economic diversification efforts.
