How to Use Absher: Key Services Every Resident Needs

Absher is the Ministry of Interior's official digital platform and, for most residents in Saudi Arabia, it is the single most important app on your phone. It brings together more than 330 government services for citizens, residents, and visitors — from renewing your iqama to issuing exit-re-entry visas and viewing your official documents. This Saudi Living guide walks you through setting up your account and using the services you will actually rely on as a resident.

Setting up your Absher account

Before you can use any service, you need an active account. Registration is straightforward, but new residents sometimes need an extra activation step.

  • Have your national ID or iqama number ready, along with an active Saudi mobile number and an email address.
  • Create your account on the Absher website or app and follow the on-screen steps.
  • Complete the activation process to unlock the full range of services.
  • First-time residents may need to activate through a passport self-service kiosk or an equivalent step before all features become available.

Keep your registered mobile number current, since it receives the verification codes required for most transactions.

Nafath: your single sign-on

Nafath is Saudi Arabia's national single sign-on service. It uses a unified digital identity to grant secure access to a wide range of government and private-sector platforms. Once your identity is verified through Nafath, logging into official services becomes faster and more secure, so it is worth setting up alongside your Absher account.

The core services every resident uses

Absher groups its services in a way that mirrors the day-to-day needs of residents. The ones you will return to most often include:

  • Iqama and residency — check status, follow renewals, and review your residency details.
  • Exit-re-entry visas — issue, extend, or manage travel permits without visiting an office.
  • Final exit — process your final departure when leaving the Kingdom permanently.
  • Dependents and family services — manage residency-related matters for family members under your sponsorship.
  • Traffic services — handle vehicle- and driving-related transactions.
  • Passport services — including reports and travel-related requests.
  • Digital wallet — view your official documents directly in the app.

How to print a Muqeem (Card) report

A Muqeem Print - Card report is a supplementary report that confirms residency details. It is not an identity document and does not replace your iqama, but it is often requested for administrative purposes. The report is valid for 30 days from the date of issue, and the service fee is 29 SAR.

To use it, you must have an Absher digital ID, a valid iqama, be under your sponsor's sponsorship, and pay the service fee. The steps are:

  • Log in to Absher.
  • Open My Services.
  • Choose Passports Services.
  • Select Muqeem Report.
  • Enter the resident's details and view or print the report.

New e-services launched in 2026

The General Directorate of Passports has expanded Absher with four new electronic services, giving residents more control from their phones:

  • Updating a resident's photograph.
  • Canceling a dependent's record.
  • Separating a dependent from the main record.
  • Using the Absher travel service at the Salwa border crossing.

These additions reduce the need to visit service centers in person, especially for family-record and travel matters.

Getting help and support

If you run into trouble, Absher offers several official support channels:

  • Unified number inside Saudi Arabia: 920020405.
  • From outside Saudi Arabia: +966920020405.
  • Email: HD@absher.sa.
  • Live chat and sign-language support are also available.

For any service where fees, timelines, or requirements matter, always confirm the current details inside your Absher account before you pay or submit, as processes are periodically updated.
