Ihsan Bafaqih Named Ameen of Jeddah Governorate

Ihsan bin Abbas bin Hamza Bafaqih has been appointed Ameen (secretary) of Jeddah Governorate at the excellent rank (المرتبة الممتازة), under a royal order issued on 11 July 2026 as part of a set of administrative decrees announced that month.

Bafaqih succeeds Saleh Al-Turki, who held the post from August 2018 until April 2026. The excellent rank is a senior civil-service grade in Saudi Arabia aligned in status with minister-level positions.

A Saudi economic and banking professional born in Jeddah in 1973, Bafaqih brings a background in finance, logistics, and industrial services. He previously served as Governor of the State Properties General Authority from December 2018 to March 2023 and has held senior executive roles across several companies.

By mid-July 2026, he had formally assumed his municipal duties, meeting Jeddah municipal leaders, reviewing priority projects, and inspecting ongoing works and informal-area redevelopment sites across the governorate.
