The Saudi Green Building Forum has announced plans to take part in the upcoming COP31 climate summit in Antalya, Türkiye, sending a 15-member delegation to the event scheduled from 9 to 20 November 2026.
The forum said its focus for COP31 will be financing the transition in the built environment, spotlighting how climate finance shapes economic, environmental, and social outcomes. It plans to underline the responsibility of financial institutions and the private sector in funding more sustainable buildings and construction.
its contribution will connect climate finance to measurable results across the economy, the environment, and communities. It also intends to showcase a range of Saudi sustainability initiatives aligned with Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2060.
Why it matters
For residents across the Kingdom, the built environment — from homes and offices to major construction projects — is a growing area of focus in efforts to cut emissions and improve energy efficiency. Directing finance toward greener buildings can influence how future developments are designed and operated in cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
By raising these themes at an international climate summit, the forum aims to strengthen partnerships that channel funding into sustainable construction, supporting the Kingdom's broader environmental targets and its long-term climate commitments.
