Consumer spending in Saudi Arabia remained strong through the summer, with point-of-sale (PoS) transactions reaching SAR 62.8 billion during July 2026,
The same period recorded around 1.1 billion individual PoS transactions across the Kingdom, underscoring how widely card and digital payments are now used in everyday retail activity.
PoS figures are one of the clearest indicators of household spending, capturing purchases made at shops, restaurants, and service outlets. A high transaction count alongside a large total value points to steady, active consumer demand across a broad range of sectors.
For residents and expats in cities such as Riyadh and Jeddah, the numbers reflect the continued shift toward cashless payments in daily life — from grocery runs to dining out. The widespread adoption of card and contactless payments has made transactions faster and more convenient at checkout points nationwide.
Saudi Living will continue to track PoS and spending data in the months ahead as an ongoing measure of consumer activity across the Kingdom.
